Conventional Kitchens.
This is the most popular style of kitchen sold and per metre run the most economic, the doors are laid on to the carcase front and installed with aprox 3mm gaps between the doors, they are fitted with a concealed sprung hinge, fitted behind the door so that it cannot be seen.
Conventional kitchens are the simplest type of furniture to manufacture, which not only keeps the overall cost reasonable but also due to its popularity offers the most choice of door colours off the shelf.
-
•The single door cabinets come in standard widths of - 150, 300, 400, 450, 500 and 600mm.
•The double door cabinets come in standard widths of - 800, 900 and 1000mm, in some ranges
1200mm, although in ′cheaper′ units the span can cause sagging on the length due to limited support.
•Standard wall unit heights are 575, 720 and 900mm.
•Depending on the quality of the door range used, other widths and heights can be available.
You will find that the cheaper the supplier and cheaper the range, the least choice in the kitchen unit sizes, cheap might sound good but, with less variations of size available, the more basic the kitchen. Remember that filling the space wall-to-wall cheaply as possible, is not the best way to design a kitchen. Using the extra widths in the plan, can be a major factor in whether your potential kitchen is a good or bad design with good placement of appliances, and from a cosmetic view point the figuration of door sizes, so that it looks as balanced as possible. This is one aspect of "You get what you pay for".
Click here to see the quality of our kitchen units. On our lower end kitchen range, several times we have matched the ′sheds′, despite having a vastly superior product, as we win on the installation costs. Remember our units are factory fully assembled, rigid construction, whereas flat-pack units need considerably more fitters effort to assemble. Labour can cost as much as the units are worth. Why pay an enormous fitting charge to Wickes, Homebase or B & Q, when that money can go into the quality of the unit rather than the fitter′s pocket?
At Dream Kitchens, as with other independent showrooms, our best selling ranges are the conventional kitchens. As a respected showroom, a notch above the large "cheap sheds" with known household names, we try and sell our conventional kitchens with the most options of size as possible, to give you a bespoke kitchen but still at a respectable price. As we have a direct input into the manufacture of the cabinets, we can use any size and shape we think fit, to compliment your required dream design as a fully functional kitchen.
